About Spay Our Strays

Who We Are and What We Do

Our Board of Directors - In a world where dedicated leadership skills are in rare supply, Spay Our Strays (SOS) is fortunate to have the rich skills and experiences of these directors and volunteers.

Gary also delvers bags of cat food to colony feeders who need it.

George Stewart

Director George Stewart - was a probation officer for 22 years. Now he drives a CAT bus on weekends and works with SOS the other four days. A Master Trapper, he is usually accompanied by youths who are working off their community service. he maintains connections with the adoption cat groups in the valley and takes charge whenever tame kittens of "friendlies" are trapped and need homes. He has extensive experience working with the Spanish speaking community.

Kathy Potts - is a full time volunteer who is our telephone intake operator. She also traps and runs a thousand errands. The bilingual phone service from the grant will free Kathy for full time trapping, and colony organizing.

Vickie H. and Heather S. - are our two other pick up points for traps. Vickie lives on a ranch where the relocation cages are kept and spends a lot of her personal time relocating coloinges and delivering cat food.

We have 25 to 35 volunteers we can call on for various duties off and on. However, we need to guard our volunteer's privacy and addresses religiously or cats and kittens will be dropped off on their property. Our organizational and recruitment skills and seven years of experience have convinces us that we can accomplish project LOS GATOS.
